How to turn nature restoration into a purchasable “product” for (not only) Czech companies?
A difficult question, which we at Refugium are still trying to solve. Luckily, we are not alone in it anymore. We have launched a joint project with the NYU Stern School of Business, which assigned us a team of 5 young professionals from various fields of finance and economics.
In January 2026, we started the first online discussions, and in mid-March, Khushali, Semina, Ashwin, Saty and Walker flew to Prague to learn more about Refugium and experience some of our activities firsthand (rain boots were needed).
A lot of time spent together was set in our office – worth mentioning is a workshop with leading Czech business figures and stakeholders, who answered all our questions with brutal honesty. We would very much like to thank:
The NYU team includes incredibly passionate people, the whole week was full of stimulating discussions and the result will be a final report with concrete proposals, which we’re optimizing together. It will be published in May 2026.
